Cooking instructor and cookbook author Miyoko Schinner

Restauranteur, cooking instructor, food writer, and author Miyoko Schinner joined us on the show today to talk about her latest book Artisan Vegan Cheese. She and Dr. Don talked about the history of vegan cheese, the advantages of homemade vegan cheese over commercially available products, and the processes involved in making and aging different types of vegan cheese. They also discussed Vegan Mashup, a new vegan cooking show airing on select PBS stations she made along with Terry Hope Romero and Toni Fiore.

  1. Vegan cheese has to be the most difficult food to prepare, at least for me.
